Strachan hails Lawwell

Hoops boss praises chief executive's running of the club Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has hailed chief executive Peter Lawwell's running of the club amidst the current economic climate. Since returning to the club in 2003 Lawwell has reportedly reduced the clubs debt by £31million, thus meaning that unlike many of their rivals, they will not have to sell their assets in order to survive during the current financial crisis. Fellow SPL side Hearts are set to sell a host of their top stars in January in order to wipe out growing debt while old firm rivals Rangers have admitted they need to sell before they can buy.
