The Blackberry Storm

By zebra7 on Monday, November 17th, 2008 A Blackberry with no physical keyboard, that's a first. The Blackberry Storm is set to be released here in the USA thru Verizon. Cable, Live and even online TV are now drumming the beat. It's Blackberry's first touch screen unit, which I am very sure is so inspired by the Apple iPhone design. The Blackberry Storm 9500 incorporates most of the feature of BlackBerry Bold 9000... except for the display. It's a 3.25" 480 x 360 pixel panel that apparently gives user's the feeling of pressing down on a real key, which then lights up. Other companies (notably Motorola) do this using a technology called "haptics", exactly how the 9500 improves on this is not clear.
