More black marks for the nation's whistlers

Published Date: 17 November 2008 WE'RE more than three months into the season and I'm now wondering if it's too much to ask for our match officials to give the players a chance to hog the headlines for a change rather than the men in black? Week after week, controversial decisions have sullied the entertainment for supporters up and down the country. This time around it was bottom-of-the-table Hamilton who suffered at the hands of a poor decision by referee Steve Conroy and his assi stant Chris Young. With Accies leading Celtic by a goal to nil, the two officials failed to spot that Cillian Sheridan had been fouled outside the box and wrongly awarded the visitors a penalty kick.
