Lee McCulloch has told Rangers manager Walter Smith he is prepared to play in any position to secure a place in the side. McCulloch has been sidelined for several weeks due to injury but returned to action in the weekend win over St Mirren. The 30-year-old, who started his career as a forward and then became a midfielder, was selected at centre-back and turned in an assured display. An injury to Madjid Bougherra forced Smith to play McCulloch in defence, but the former Wigan man has filled the role in a number of reserve games recently. McCulloch is desperate to stay in the side and admits he is happy to give anything a go. He said: "I play in a number of positions - and whenever the gaffer needs me, wherever he needs me, I'll keep myself fit and hope to come in and do a job.
