Aid trucks banned as truce is shattered in Gaza

PETER CAVE: For five months, Israel and Hamas have been holding an uneasy and unlikely ceasefire in the Gaza strip. Well, that now appears to be over. Hamas has been firing rockets into Israel daily for a fortnight, and in a move which Amnesty International has called collective punishment - Israel has banned the transit of the aid trucks which supply half of Gaza's population of 1.3-million people with food. Middle East correspondent Ben Knight reports. BEN KNIGHT: On the night of the US election two weeks ago, Israeli troops entered Gaza for the first time in months. They were there to destroy a cross border tunnel the army said was about to be used to kidnap an Israeli soldier.
