Nov 12, 2008 (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Two Internet entrepreneurs who sold their last venture to Microsoft Corp. for a reported $50 million have set their sights on Wal-Mart. Brian Wiegand and Mark McGuire said Tuesday they've raised $4.3 million of first-round financing for Alice.com, a Middleton start-up with an online retail platform for connecting customers and manufacturers of packaged goods such as toilet paper, trash bags and toothpaste. Alice.com already has 15 employees and will handle nonperishable, non-food household items, said McGuire, president and co-founder.
