Soccer Donovan begins training with Bayern Munich in Germany: Landon Donovan wants another chance to succeed in Europe. A bust with Bayer Leverkusen during two prior stints in Germany, Donovan began training with Bayern Munich on Tuesday — the same day he was voted U.S. player of the year for a record fifth time. "This has been an interesting week for me," the 26-year-old Donovan said. "This opportunity was too good for me to pass up." Donovan also won the Honda Award in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2007. He led Major League Soccer this year with 20 regular-season goals for the Los Angeles Galaxy. With 37 goals in 105 international appearances, Donovan became the U.S. career scoring leader.
