Dahir Mohamed Hersi, has accused a private security force employed to protect assets in Mogadishu's notorious Bakara market of being 'part of the insurgency.' Col. Hersi told a Mogadishu press conference on Monday that government troops captured one of Bakara's uniformed armed guards while fighting alongside the insurgents. The guard, who identified himself as Abdifatah Mohamed Abdirisaq, admitted to reporters that he is employed as part of Bakara's private security force. "I was captured yesterday while fighting against government soldiers," Mr. Abdifatah told the press conference. At least 13 people were killed during yesterday's violence.
