Good Medicine:

I recently had the misfortune of being asked to back up the pediatric ER. It’s not that I don’t like kids, although some of them make me want to remove my testicles (perhaps I could sell them to the Apple Orchid as an entree) and run screaming from the room. No, the problem with the Pedi ED is that the doctors there seem to be not smart. As a rule I try not to criticize physicians too much: after all, I went to college for a whopping two years to get my A.S., whereas the guy writing orders went through four years of undergrad and four years of med school and at least three years of residency. As the joke goes, “what do you call a guy who graduates last in med school?
