Metro gas prices hit 2-year low

Pump prices have fallen 50 cents in two weeks to an average of $2.04 a gallon in Metro Detroit. Jennifer Youssef / The Detroit News Gas prices in Metro Detroit fell another 16 cents in the past week to an average $2.04 a gallon, the lowest price at the pump in two years, according to AAA Michigan. Statewide, the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas was $2.07 on Monday, down from $2.26 the week before and less than half of the record high average of $4.21 on July 17. Gas prices have fallen about 50 cents in the past two weeks. "As long as oil prices keep going down, gas will follow," said Jim Rink, a spokesman for AAA Michigan.
