Zimbabwe: 'Summit to Focus on Sticking Points'

Posted to the web 10 November 2008 Morris Mkwate Harare THE Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, says today's Sadc meeting on Zimbabwe will focus on resolving sticking points around the allocation of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Speaking shortly before leaving Harare for the summit yesterday, Cde Chinamasa said it was difficult to predict the prospects of the summit. He said progress could only be made if Mr Morgan Tsvangirai "rectifies this problem of over-reliance on outsiders". He said: "The problem with predicting any outcome is that we now know that (Mr) Tsvangirai is not his own man. He has no respect for Sadc leaders or the organisation because he feels that his source of power, which is Western countries, is superior to that of the region," he said. "So, for the meeting to...
