Harris’ Pollock co-star, Marcia Gay Harden, presented the Director of the Year prize to Harris for Appaloosa, while Adams claimed the Star of The Year award. In handing over the coveted honour to Harris in New York, Gay Harden recalled working with the gruff actor/director in Pollock - and how he slammed a chair to the floor to evoke emotion from the actress.
