Česko se bude soudit s Bruselem o čvrt miliardy korun Prague - The Czech government is going to sue the European Commission (EC) for nearly Kc0.25bn over funds that disappeared from the Phare programme in the 1990s and that the government does not want to return to Brussels, the Prima television station said today. According to the EC, the Czech Republic has embezzled the money from Phare programme earmarked for support of small and mid-sized businesses. The EC has therefore deducted the lost sum from the amount that was to be granted to the Czech Republic from EU funds this year. "The sum amounts to EUR9.3m. We demand it back," Local Development Ministry spokesman Hynek Jordan told Prima.
