The first is the green reason - why pollute the earth any more than necessary? - and the other is thrift. Whether you heat with natural gas, electricity or oil, keeping a home warm through the Canadian winter is expensive. The head of the Canadian Gas Association reckons that consumers will see a 10 per cent difference in the price of natural gas this year over last winter. Michael Cleland, whose group represents the country's natural gas delivery industry, says that's because gas for this winter was bought by distributors several months ago when prices were higher.
