Unstoppable Murray continues golden run of form - with slideshow

A week after an impressive victory at the Madrid Masters, the 21-year-old from Dunblane kept up his winning streak yesterday with the successful defence of his title at the St Petersburg Open. The top seed needed just 56 minutes to complete a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev. It was the shortest final in terms of time on the ATP circuit this year, and Murray, who has cemented his place as world No 4, made it look easy against a player ranked 146 places below him. The Scot, who thrashed Fernando Verdasco 6-0, 6-3 in the semi-finals, did not drop a set on the way to his fifth title of the season and his eighth career win overall.
