Dr. Ngai Nguyen, the Chairman of the Viet Heritage Society and the Vice General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Vietnam, (DPV), hosted U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, Michael Michalak, at a series of events in San Jose, California over the past weekend. At a reception and dinner of business leaders and seven political parties on Saturday evening, San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed thanked Ambassador Michalak for his visit and acknowledged the important role the Vietnamese-Americans have in the community. Councilwoman Madison Nguyen presented the Ambassador with a proclamation praising his continued support for improved democracy, human rights and religious freedom for the people of Vietnam.
