Published Date: 13 October 2008 A prison inmate has told a court that a man standing trial for murder had confessed to stabbing David Cornall. Michael Kiley, 25, told Preston Crown Court he had met Liam Cromie while on remand in Manchester Prison, and that Cromie had told him that he had mistaken Mr Cornall for a police informer. It was only after he had stabbed Mr Cornall that Cromie had realised he had got the wrong man, Kiley said. Kiley, serving life for robbery and firearms offences, said he and Cromie had spoken about the charges they each faced. Kiley told the court: "He said he was in a park with a few of his friends, smoking weed and drinking beer. A couple of his friends were selling drugs.
