Colin Laffar (24.64) got the visitors off to a flyer with a 3-0 win against Barry Linnecor (21.78) but Sutton drew level when Steve Paling (23.52) beat Dave Clarke (24.65) 3-1. Title holders Sydenham then took control, with man of the match Nigel Heydon (31.31) enjoying a 3-0 success - chipping out in 13, 19 and 16 darts - against Dave Wallace(25.56). In the fourth game Dave Atkins (26.03) raced into a 2-0 lead, chipping out on 132 in the first leg and recording a 160 finish in a 15-dart second leg to see off James Owen (22.40) 3-1.
