Man sentenced in deadly road rage crash

Story Published: Oct 13, 2008 at 5:58 PM PDT Story Updated: Oct 13, 2008 at 6:23 PM PDT PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. -- A deadly case of street racing mixed with road rage has ended with prison time for the young man who caused the crash. On Monday 24-year-old Joseph Wolfert was sentenced to 20 months in prison for the death of two young friends. Apichai Noppakovat and Nicholas Morales had just graduated from Clover Park High School. The two were riding in a car driven by their friend Chris Smith. The 16-year-old Smith became angry when Wolfert passed his car on the shoulder of the road two summers ago in University Place.
