By ANDREW SPINALI Staff Writer MERRIMACK – In 2005, Dr. Tony Lowenberg, of Manchester, visited Fiji during a chiropractic externship. While there, Lowenberg treated a 9-year-old boy who suffered from seizures so bad that he had never enjoyed a full night's rest. Upon examining the boy, Lowenberg discovered a misalignment in his spine, the likely cause of the seizures. He fixed the problem and asked the boy to return the next day. But when the boy went back, he wasn't alone. Rather, 50 family members and neighbors accompanied him, thanking Lowenberg for helping the boy sleep while offering the doctor baskets of food and hand-woven goods.
