Sarah Palin puts on a defiant show after 'Troopergate' inquiry found she abused her powers

Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as Alaska governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, an inquiry has found. The inquiry by Alaska lawmakers ruled that the Republican vice presidential candidate did not break any laws. Despite the findings, Palin and her Presidential candidate John McCain said the report showed she had acted with 'proper and lawful authority'. A bipartisan Alaska legislative panel ruled that Mrs Palin, 44, abused her authority by firing her public safety commissioner Walt Monegan because he wouldn’t axe her former brother-in-law from his job as a state trooper.
