Walking - Clapham

Published Date: 10 October 2008 Dennis Kelsall sets out from Clapham and encounters the grotesque rock shapes of the Norber Boulders Spectacular scenery in the Yorkshire Dales is not hard to find, nor does it always demand overly strenuous walking, as this pleasant walk from Clapham illustrates. Much of it follows old tracks that never made it into the formal road system, but there are also delightful sections on moorland paths, which could be miles from anywhere. The walk leads to the Norber Boulders, a group of erratics on the hillside above Austwick. Although science has explained how the stones got there, I still find it remarkable that there are so many within such a relatively small area.
