Lord Thomson of Monifieth Lord Ezra writes: For many years I had the pleasure of sharing an office with George Thomson in the House of Lords. We frequently spoke of his time in government, in Brussels as a commissioner, and in broadcasting. His recollections were always delivered in a gentle, humorous and self-deprecating manner. He spoke well in the House, especially on broadcasting, and was listened to with attention. We shared many views, particularly on House of Lords reform, and feared that changes now being contemplated could raise issues of power sharing with the House of Commons and would cost considerably more than at present.
