Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira is suspending its status as a trauma center. The suspension will begin November 1st because of a lack of trauma surgeons. Hospital officials say if you're in an emergency within 60 minutes of the hospital, you'll still be taken to the emergency room and receive the same level of care. The only difference is they will not be accepting transfers of trauma patients from other hospitals.
