Reports by SHAHANAAZ HABIB, ZULKIFLI ABD RAHMAN, HAMDAN RAJA ABDULLAH, MUGUNTAN VANAR , SIRA HABIBU, NELSON BENJAMIN, SIM LEOI LEOI, IAN MCINTYRE, SYLVIA LOOI and SARBAN SINGH PETALING JAYA: A day after announcing his intention to go for the Umno president’s post, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak obtained nominations from the Kimanis Umno division in Sabah and Machang division in Kelantan. Both divisions also nominated Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for deputy president. The top two posts fell vacant after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said he would not seek re-election as party president, paving the way for Najib to move up the party hierarchy.
