A doctor has been named chief adviser of a new charity. Dr Ajay Kapoor, a consultant clinical psychologist, has pledged his support to the Bihar Foundation, which gives vital medical support to people made homeless by widespread flooding in India. The floods in the Indian state of Bihar started in August and have since made three million people homeless. Dr Kapoor was born in Bihar village of Nalanda and went to university in the capital, Patna. He said: "Because I was born there and studied there, this cause is very close to my heart.
