CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Mine operator Massey Energy has acquired an idled metallurgical coal mine in West Virginia. Richmond, Va.-based Massey announced the deal Thursday. Terms were not disclosed. Massey says the Greenbrier County mine holds about 200,000 tons of metallurgical coal and once restarted will allow it to increase production inexpensively. Massey also says it can use the mine to...
