Calgary companies rally in 'roller-coaster' rebound

Energy, banks power TSX to 467-point gain Geoffrey Scotton, Calgary Herald Published:Â Wednesday, October 01, 2008 One day after energy stocks drove the Toronto Stock Exchange to its largest one-day point drop, the same sector and banks helped lift the TSX to a near-500-point gain Tuesday as markets around the world rebounded on higher oil prices, sentiment Monday's sell-off was overblown and belief a financial rescue package in the United States is inevitable.
