Leicester's Toby Flood and Dan Hipkiss overrun Northampton

Easy does it: Toby Flood runs in a try in the last minute to seal a good performance for him and Leicester against Northampton Photo: Getty Images Leicester used a combination of a superior scrum and the running power of Dan Hipkiss and Toby Flood to overpower tenacious Northampton at Welford Road on Wednesday night. Hipkiss and Flood sped through the Northampton defence in the last 10 minutes to seal Leicester's fourth win of the season. It was reward for the Tigers' commanding advantage in the final 40 minutes that had been based around a strong scrum. Despite the pressure, Leicester needed the late tries, plus a penalty goal from Flood, to keep ahead of a Northampton team reliant on a first-half try from Euan Murray and Stephen Myler, who kicked 14 points.
