Posted to the web 1 October 2008 Luanda The 214 Members of Parliament that were sworn in Tuesday in Luanda, as a result of the September 5 legislative election, recognised the job performed by their predecessors. The 214 of the new parliament's 220 MPs acknoledged this at a ceremony witnessed by members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Angola, representative of the country's political class, religious figures and other personalities. The ceremony started with the national anthem, followed by a message from the Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, in which he congratulated the newly invested MPs, expressing his optimism about their good performance.
