Art addresses Rio-l problem

THIS eye-catching view is the Morro da Providencia favela – one of the most violent shanty towns in Brazil. A French photographer, known as "JR", has brought his "Women Are Heroes" campaign to the south American country's Rio slum. JR's exhibit features pictures of the relatives of victims of clashes between police and drugs gangs. He has the photos blown up and then plastered all over houses in the favela.
