Drivers praise preparations but delay track verdict

By Timothy Collings VALENCIA, Spain (Reuters) - Formula One's leading drivers praised the preparations for this weekend's European Grand Prix but delayed their verdict on the new street circuit. On a day when Spain began three days of mourning for the 153 victims of Wednesday's air crash at Madrid's Barajas airport, the drivers were in subdued mood but quick to speak up for the efforts to get the Valencia track ready. The circuit has been designed with 25 corners as it winds around the port area of Spain's third largest city but also contains straights and overtaking opportunities. The organisers hope it can provide something of the atmosphere of the Monaco Grand Prix while generating the passing moves not normally associated with that particular race.
