Bullets hang over a hill in Afghanistan, where war has fuelled a surge in orders The fighting in Afghanistan has seen orders soar by 300%. BAE Systems' factory near Crewe is working round the clock producing up to one million rounds a day. In an indication of the expected length of the conflict, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed a £2bn contract to pre-buy ammunition for the next 15 years.
