Sarajevo - Four convicts of a prison in the central Bosnian town of Zenica trained carrier-pigeons to bring them narcotics to the prison, Banja Luka's daily Nezavisne novine reported Thursday citing the prison's authorities. The Deputy Director of the prison Josip Pojavnik confirmed that a couple of days ago the discovered the crime. All four convicts suspected of training the carrier-pigeons to smuggle narcotics, he said, were positive to heavy drugs. It is believed, as the prison's management said, that the well- trained pigeons were bringing heroin and cocaine into the prison, carrying specially designed small plastic bags attached to their legs.
