As a result of its invasion of Georgia and increasingly aggressive stance against its democratic neighbors, the Russian government has forfeited any right to expect to be treated as a responsible member of the international community or to conduct “business as usual” in the world marketplace. The U.S. and other responsible nations must respond firmly, unequivocally, and immediately to hold Russia accountable and demonstrate with actions their support for democratic allies in the region.
