Following an unsuccessful time in the football tournament at the Beijing Olympics, the ex Hereford United right-back Trent McClenahan is continuing in his search for a contract with an Australian A-League club. Prior to the Olyroos trip to Beijing, McClenahan was linked with a move to the Newcastle United Jets, but no contract deal has been forthcoming. Indeed, the Jets' coach Gary van Egmond has closed the doors on a deal for the former West Ham and MK Dons defender. Speaking to the Australian FourFourTwo magazine, van Egmond said: 'Trent McClenahan won't be signing with us. 'I have heard he is keen to come back to play in Australia but to be honest I think we're pretty much done and dusted when it comes to the full-back positions.
