Everyone loves a comeback and Gordon Brown will have found a couple of tiny crumbs of comfort yesterday in an otherwise grisly opinion poll. Labour's stopped falling, hitting rock bottom 15 points behind the Tories. And eager young pretender David Miliband would do no better as Prime Minister. I was also reminded that Tony Blair was nine per cent behind two Augusts ago then Brown turned it into a five point lead last summer. As recently as April Brown remained within touching distance of the Tories - trailing by only five points until soaring fuel and food prices triggered a collapse.
