Bundle of joy for cancer survivior

Former Chippenham, Corsham and Trowbridge Town footballer John Woods is celebrating the birth of his first child just three years after being diagnosed with testicular cancer. Mr Woods, 36, was told he has the disease in January 2005 and had his final operation in January 2006. His specialist said it would take at least three years to conceive, but his partner, Caroline Millar, 33, became pregnant last November. Mr Woods said: "When Caroline fell pregnant it was the last thing we were expecting, but of course it was a lovely surprise. "It puts the thought of the dreaded C word to the back of my mind because I have a little one to focus on now."
