(AP) -- Middle Tennessee State has lost two players because of injuries, including the projected starting center. Coach Rick Stockstill said Monday that offensive lineman Jake Padrick will miss the season after suffering a knee injury in Saturday's scrimmage. Padrick, anticipated to be the team's No. 1 center, was helped off the field halfway through the scrimmage. Linebacker Landon Givers will have to give up football because of a back injury.
