Pro-China rally in Ottawa celebrates Olympics

More than 100 people sang, danced, played drums and waved Chinese flags on Parliament Hill on Sunday, then paraded to Ottawa City Hall. "One world, one dream" read the banners unfurled at the rally, which was held partly to celebrate China's hosting of the Olympic Games and partly to respond to protests held in front of the Chinese Embassy last week, said Daiyu Wang, one of the organizers. Last week's protests were intended to draw attention to China's treatment of its ethnic Tibetan minority as the international spotlight shines on the host country of the Summer Games.
