Kagoshima Jitsugyo advances at Koshien

NISHINOMIYA, Hyogo Pref. (Kyodo) Kota Nakao broke a 1-1 tie in the top of the 12th inning with a two-out RBI single as Kagoshima Jitsugyo held off Miyazaki Shogyo 4-1 in the second round of the National High School Championship on Sunday. Ginga Uebo and Yuji Morita followed Nakao with run-scoring hits, helping the Kagoshima school advance to the third round for the first time in 12 years. In other second-round action at Koshien Stadium, Daisuke Ujiie went 3-for-3 and drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly in the 10th inning as Hyogo's Hotoku Gakuen edged Chiben Gakuen of Nara 5-4.
