Forest find their feet to keep Coppell on hunt for signings

Steve Coppell would not repeat what he said when he shook hands with the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Paul Smith after the final whistle but it is safe to assume that it was not a compliment. The Reading manager would have been departing the City Ground with three points yesterday but for a wonderful reaction save from the player he gave a chance to break through during his time in charge at Brentford. So much for gratitude. Not that Reading deserved any more than a point. The visitors were listless here, failing to create a clear opportunity until Stephen Hunt delivered a superb cross into the six-yard box that Kevin Doyle headed goalbound with 10 minutes remaining.
