Sunday Morning Bag of Donuts

Ok, so I have no idea why I chose my title. I ate at Moe’s the other day, so maybe that factored in. That in mind, here is a big bag of mixed news and notes to help savor the remaining parts of the weekend. Micah Hoffpauir went insane in the brain yesterday playing for Iowa, hitting home runs in his first four at bats of the game. It tied the PCL record and propelled Iowa to a lopsided 15-3 over Round Rock. There is no doubt in my mind that Hoffpauir will be on this team for the stretch run come Sept. 1st. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get more time than Daryle Ward at that time. He could also fill Ward’s current role on this team if the Cubs decide not to bring Ward back next year.
