Charlton kicked off the season with a 2-0 win over Swansea this afternoon to give us a boost after a frustrating summer. Mark Hudson marked his Addicks debut with a goal after only three minutes to give us the lead before Andy Gray sealed the win five minutes from the end. Although Alan Pardew was pleased with the way elements of game plan worked, he wasn't so happy with others and sees room for improvement, he said: "We had our set pieces running in the dressing room today because we felt they were that important and we threatened on almost every one. "We needed Matt Holland at that stage (1-0 up). He came on and did what he does and his experience got us to the victory. "They really passed the ball well and at times they embarrassed us."
