Aug. 9 2008 3:00 PM ET The Canadian Press BEIJING -- Quebec Premier Jean Charest has no intention of protesting a measure that prevents Quebec athletes from waving the Fleur-de-lis at the Beijing Olympics. Parti Quebecois Leader Pauline Marois had called on Charest to fight the decision by Chinese Olympic officials to only allow flags from the 205 competing nations. Under the rule, athletes from such regions as Quebec, Scotland and Flanders won't be able to wave local flags at any Olympic venue. The rule was adopted to prevent protests supporting the Tibetan independence movement.
