Pardew pleased after sinking Swans

Alan Pardew hailed the contribution of his strikers and back four as Charlton begun the new Championship season by taking three points against newly-promoted Swansea City on Saturday. New signing - and new captain - Mark Hudson opened the scoring for the Addicks as early as the second minute, before Andy Gray headed home late on to secure the victory for Pardew's men. The Addicks boss admitted his side had been overrun slightly by Swansea's five-man midfield but took the positives from impressive displays in other areas of the pitch. With Matt Holland only on the bench after recently recovering from an ankle injury, Pardew started with young Jonjo Shelvey and Therry Racon in the middle of the mark.
