Pro-Tibet Protest In Tiananmen Included Canadian Activist

By Sidhartha Banerjee, The Canadian Press A Canadian man is facing imminent deportation from China after he and four others dropped to the ground at the iconic Tiananmen Square in the latest call for Tibetan freedom. Montrealer Chris Schwartz, a member of the student government at Concordia University and long-time member of the Tibetan resistance movement, was among a group of activists from Students for a Free Tibet detained in Beijing on Saturday. A spokeswoman for Students for a Free Tibet in Beijing said Schwartz has been involved in the Tibet cause for nearly a decade, despite the fact he's only 24-years-old.
