In-form skipper wary of pitfalls

Kevin Pietersen says captaining England 'can only get worse' after his 14th Test century put his side in control against South Africa. Pietersen's first Test in charge could barely have gone any better so far as England secured a 122-run first innings lead over the tourists in the final Test at the Oval - thanks largely to the new skipper's ton. After watching his side bowl out South Africa for 194, Pietersen led by example by hitting a typical 100 in England's 316 all-out reply before SA were restricted to 37 for one in their second innings - a score that still leaves them trailing by 85 runs.
