Plymouth Argyle have signed defender Chris Barker from Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers for an undisclosed fee. Barker, 28, put pen to paper on a 3-year contract and will bring a wealth of experience to the Pilgrims' rearguard. After waiting and waiting for news of new players, Argyle fans suddenly have three new players within a matter of days following the capture of Simon Walton, Craig Cathcart and now Barker. Barker commanded a £600,000 transfer fee in 2002 when he moved from Barnsley to Cardiff City, after 5 years with the Welsh club and loan spells at Stoke City and Colchester United Barker signed for QPR last summer on a free transfer.
