Antigua police chief resigns as honeymoon probe continues

Antigua's police chief Ron Scott, who was investigating the murder of two Britons on their honeymoon, has resigned from the position. Mr Scott, who held the post of assistant commissioner, said he had left the job over personal reasons that were not linked to the inquiry into the deaths of Catherine and Ben Mullany. The two Britons were shot at their cottage on the Caribbean island on July 27th. Catherine Mullany died on the spot while Ben died at a hospital in Swansea after being flown home. No one has been charged over the killings yet and the country's prime minister Baldwin Spencer has previously given a national address warning that his government would not let violent crime tarnish the island's image.
